~ Parade ~⁠ ⁠

We chose to take part 
In this grand parade
Going after what we need
But not what we feel
Wait
Was it what we need
Or what we want?

Either way
We chose to make a move
To get something more
As if there was something to prove
As if there was something to ignore

We will never be complete
But we could have been whole
So how have we decided
To walk in this parade
Alone
?

And you’ve tried to crack
The code of your life
You’ve made up your lessons
On what’s wrong and what’s right

You’ve learned from mistakes
As if mistakes were real
You still think that there
Could have been better than here

And now that you think
You’ve got nothing to fear
You’re faced with something
Filling you up with tears

If you’d only realise
This is who you are
You would see every step
Is taking you to the stars

I’m gonna meet you again
To tell you the words
I haven’t said
The love
I have not spoken

Living my life at my best
Learning the lessons you shared

I wish you were here to see
All the things that we’ve missed
They’re all still stuck in my head
Making me wonder 
If they should’ve been lived

I know they’re keeping me company
When I feel more alone
I know we’ll live there for eternity
Even now that you’re gone
